One thing to get straight: This is NOT “He-Man an the Masters of the Universe”. This is “Masters of the Universe”. Period. And it rocks! Instead of a central (super)hero that you know he will (eventually) win the day, you get a mix of heroes and anti-heroes, working towards a single goal, facing trials and tribulations, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, goals and agendas. Each victory comes with a price, leaving a bittersweet taste. The story is robust, the characters well written, each of the cast plays their part to progress the narrative. There are times you will find yourself in an emotional rollercoaster, especially when old favourites are on-screen. The series is a perfect blend of nostalgia and moving an old franchise forward. But it’s not He-Man. And we thank you for that! Because it’s better!
