Made a mess of a popular story, very dark, silly retelling. If there was another film in that ilk it will not be a success.

I have just watched this powerful film. It keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Dougray Scott and Sophie Nelisse are perfectly cast and believable throughout. I have watched a good few films regarding WW2 and the resistance etc, I must say that this is one of the best portrayals of living people, the bravery and resilience shines out from all the actors involved. The real life story of the wonderful Irana Gut. A selfless and heroic young lady trying to save some Jewish people from the hands of the revolting and inhumane German military. We forget somewhat, in our lifetime (post WW2) how the Jewish race were so hated and how some of them got through the horrors of the war. People like Irana Gut should never be forgotten for what they did to help their fellow man in all the wars. In 2025, we are desensitised (films, games etc) to what people actually had to live through, enduring the most cruel happenings in all wars. We are going about our everyday hectic lives and then watch a film like this, it really does awaken the sense of "Lest we Forget" .......... we will never forget.

lots of quick comedic/drama/action. the cast were very good together for their part. i always think that the gorgeous Mr Brad Pitt is a good actor (in whatever role he has had). strange that he has not won more awards, not just because of his looks, he is believable and has good comic timing in this film. it must have been great fun to make.
