WARNING:SPOILERS!!! This movie should not be watched it has nothing to do with the book and is disappointing. Reason 1: both Ares and Clarisse are not in this movie anywhere. They were two key characters!!! Reason 2: it skips like the first few chapters. We never hear anything about Nancy Bobofit. Reason 3: Camp Half Blood. It was just not how I pictured it as a normal looking summer camp like described. Plus he is at the camp for about 5 minutes and it never shows the part where he is taken in by cabin Hermes Reason 4 Annabeth. Firstly why isn’t she blonde and why doesn’t she have gray eyes it isn’t that hard to do that. Plus I’m the beginning Annabeth is feeding Percy ambrosia. That was never shown. Plus there is the whole scene when they are talking and Percy fights clarisse that wasn’t included. Reason 5 Luke training. The movie never shows the time Percy managed to disarm Luke in battle training. Reason 6 capture the flag. Why was Annabeth and Percy on a different team and why wasn’t Percy on border patrol? Also why did Percy get the flag when Luke actually did. Reason 7 characters. Why are they 17 years old. Also Annabeth is quite irresponsible in the movie but she is described pretty different in the book. Reason 8: Luke send them on a quest for pearls. This just never happened the nereid gave them the pearls. Reason 9 Zeus and Poseidon. Zeus I pictured as having curly hair down to his ears and Poseidon is described as having long black hair. Reason 10: chapter 10 No fury bus scene. Reason 11: why did Luke give him a shield with the bolt hidden in it. It was really ares giving him a backpack. Reason 12: where was the scene where Luke almost kills Percy with a pit scorpion. Reason 13: it never shows anything about Grover talking about pan or about getting a searchers license. Reason 14: Dionysus and Argus. Neither of these characters were ever shown and also there wasn’t a scene for when Percy was playing pinnochle with Mr. D. Reason 15 the oracle. There was no scene for the oracle or his quest. Reason 16: no scene of hellhound. The hellhound that Luke summoned was never in the movie. Reason 17: the hydra. There was never a hydra and this just ruined the movie. Reason 17: where was crusty and echidna and chimera? Reason 18 where was Kronos In this? Where were Percy’s dreams? Reason 19 Grover is white( no offense meant) it said in the book. Reason 20 why were they FaceTimeing Luke!?!? They can’t use technology and they should have been iris messaging. Reason 21: why was Percy wearing the flying shoes? He gave them to Grover! Reason 22: why were Annabeth and Percy being romantic!! I know it comes at some point but definitely not in this book! It seemed like they were scared to talk to each other, while in the book they were not having any troubles socializing. Reason 22: where was Tartarus? Why was Persephone is the underworld? Also this movie made hades the bad guy😡 Reason 23: where was the river styk? Reason 24 WHERE WAS THALIA IN ALL THIS!!!! She was so important to the part of how Percy wasn’t supposed to be alive. Reason 25: Grover is supposed to be shy Reason 26:why doesn’t Argus escort them to Manhattan? I think they should have made this movie at least 3 hours to make it like the book. This is disrespectful to Rick Riordan. Sorry so long. I was just listing all the reasons. I would suggest reading the book it is amazing 🤩.
