In West Africa, this movie is legendary. By the time this came out, we preferred the so-called 'Spaghetti Westerns' over the US ones. In Sierra Leone, when Django premiered at a cinema called Byblos, the street was garlanded as the trailer had built expectation to fever pitch. I could not get a ticket for the first month it was on show, such was the demand. Very much a classic of the genre and quite witty to see Franco Nero appear in the Tarantino movie.
