Many reviewers mention the implausibility of the plot and the discrepancies in the depiction of reality in Iran, as well as the bad accent and stale language, used by the actors.
However, we should not forget two important facts;
1. This is an Israeli television production, that could have never been shot in Iran, with actors who currently reside in Iran. The production did invite actors of Iranian descent or exile Iranians who constitute an important pillar of the cast.
2. This is fiction, a form of art, and not a substitute depiction of reality. It invokes a discussion about the stereotypical, black and white, perception that is often promoted by official propaganda on both sides. It is trying to dig deeper into the common ground we share as human beings and show our vulnerabilities and shared moral values.
I was pleasantly surprised with the development of the show, which proved my reluctance to view the show for months after its release unjustified. I was expecting a one-sided heroical espionage thriller, that sings praises of Mossad and Israeli Air Force, I was glad that the creators chose to send a more universal message of humanity.
