Oh boy. I don't even know where to start. Without giving anything away, this film was OK. It bled "Disney" far more than "Star Wars" and was like watching your friends play a video game for 2.5 hours. Quest after quest with no character development whatsoever and a lot of play-it-safe fan service. Pointless new characters were added which just sucked screentime and added to the bland characterizations. It felt rushed --- the plot, the dialogue, the acting. Of course that makes sense when you have to retcon everything from a previous movie while also moving toward a conclusion in this one. I expected more from JJ Abrams. At the end of the day, you can feel the lack of a cohesive writing team more than anything else. It's a real shame, too, because Kylo and Rey are some of the characters with the most depth in the franchise. Heavy sigh.
