If I could give 6 stars I would, if I could give 7 stars I would, but 5 stars will do
I hadnโt known what the movie was about and I hadnโt even watched the trailer, I had only known that it was a Christian real life telling of a man in nazi Germany, which took my attention.. so I watched it
The movie was such a thrill, I thoroughly enjoyed the back and forth in the timeline of Bonhoeffer, showing his past and present motions, his discover of the Lord and discovery of fun, and also his risks and challenges. All his joyous and sorrowful moments were so emotionally tender, it was real, the humanity shown and the divinity discovered.
And his death was painted wonderfully, because it wasnโt forced, and it wasnโt a threatening moment, it was an answer to his calling to the Lord of going home, Bonhoeffer went home as a disciple, and I loved that. I could write a whole essay of how this movie deserves more than 5 stars but I recommend you watch to see for your self, but I do advise you to watch this with a tender heart, it may be long but itโs worth is, itโs a story not a long explanation, feel what he feels, and I pray that I blessed you with this.
