Well written. But not enough excitement. The first 100 pages was like a 'library crawl' across Europe. Having said this, the descriptions of the various historical landscapes felt adventurous. (I loved the Boras in Turkey). The romace was well handled and i was mesmerised and appalled with Helens struggle between her own blood and that of Draculas (Helen gazing hungrily her young daughter!). I didnt find the ending too confusing as some have, and when Dracula finally (!!!) Appears he is well 'conjured' and its all the more exciting for the wait. I prefered Bram Stokers version however, and 'Lestat' even more so.
