I really enjoy going to the Aviator. I love to sit outside and take in the scene. But lately I’ve been so disappointed with the service, it takes away from the relaxing atmosphere I once experienced there. We went there for lunch and dinner on Saturday and both times received lack luster service. It seemed very confused and unorganized. The first waiter was friendly enough but got our order wrong and we had to keep going to the bartender to get the basics like silverware and salt and pepper because we couldn’t find our waiter. The second time we went for dinner, we also sat outside to listen to the band. Again it took forever for anyone to approach us. We felt invisible. Once we finally got a waitress she took our order and brought it back incorrectly. Instead of taking it back to get it done right her excuse was “well that’s how the bartender serves them”. Ugh. What happened to the customer is always right? We ordered our food, someone else brought it to us. We didn’t see our waitress for a long time as we sat there with empty drinks. Finally she comes and asks if we want another, we specify we would like them in pint glasses and she comes back with tall glasses AGAIN! When we brought it to her attention she just shrugged and walked away. Not to be seen for the rest of the night! When we were ready to leave we kept looking around for our waitress to get the bill, couldn’t find her. I went to find the hostess to get our bill and as I left our table I see our waitress sitting on the stairs gabbing with her co-workers. I said “you’re obviously busy but when you can spare a moment we would like our check”! She looked like a deer in headlights. We finally got our check and left ( with a bad taste in our mouths). I will probably go back again but hope the management with RE-evaluate their training and procedures. The way it is now seems like a hot mess!!
