So I see a lot of complaining but being someone that has played the last few years extensively, the foundation is set. Games a bit sluggish but overall I don’t mind it. I’m finding it harder to score but I also don’t mind that. This is the closest to feeling like real hockey. Some tweaks needed here and there but I’m not getting glitch goaled all to hell. Also I see complaints defensively. Well once you get used to it, you can shut teams out with good defensive play. I shut out my last four opponents in hut online play, and I actually feel I’m rewarded for playing a smart game. Is the game perfect? No. Is it on the right track? Yes. People complain of ea just copy pasting every year. Then they try and actually make legit changes and everyone cries that it’s not the glitch fest it was last year. I used to play so many games with 7-10 plus goals scored. Not anymore. Yes I have had a game here or there that’s gone to a 5-4 or something, but that’s what’s great. Some games are close tight scoring affairs while others are a bit more offensive.
Now I’ve only played hut so far, so I can’t attest to franchise or anything yet. I’m a big franchise mode fan and would like to see a bit more time devoted to making that mode even better for sure.
But all in all gameplay wise, I really enjoy the game and I hope those that are crying don’t force EA into reverting back to nhl 22-23 gameplay. I say this, be patient, learn all the new features and ways to play, and give the game a fair shake. Because I think this is a step in the right direction for the nhl franchise.
The biggest plus is that there doesn’t seem to be any glitch scoring at this point. I have found a way to shut down numerous ways of attack and being able to do that has been such a relief this year. So I say give it a fair shake.
