“13 minutes before midnight” by Abhaidev is a novel with a perfect blend of mystery, suspense, thriller and murder filled with science – fiction and time travel elements. The author has very well curated the characters and has used crisp and lucid language to ensure your attention until the very last page and keep the reader interested throughout. It is very engaging as within first few pages the protagonist is introduced and the themes of mystery and time travel is explored. The story takes place in a bustling city and it centres around the protagonist Rehan Ahuja. He finds himself in a series of mysterious events that turn his life upside down. Rehan comes across a naked dead body of a woman that came right into his house through a portal where in the door just opened and closed in a fraction seconds. The mystery of the dead woman and also the time travel is introduced at the same time that only the protagonist Rehan and the killer also knows about. Apart from this Rehan have a secret of his own and is guilty of it. After all of the naked body of the woman Fiasco the next day when he went to his office he sees the same woman alive whose dead body he saw in his house. On one hand it is the mystery of the dead woman and on the other hand it is about the time travel where the dead body which has been disposed is also get up from another time period and the alive woman in the office is from another time period.
In conclusion the way the themes of mystery, time travel, science fiction, murder, thriller, suspense is presented is just so wonderful and unto the crux of it. Also the biggest likeable point for me in the novel is the climax or the end of the novel which proves that he has led his imaginations fly high. I would indeed recommend this book to my friends and everyone out there looking for some time travel or a science fiction, murder mystery or thriller book because this stands by all of it, at least for me it was an unique and an engrossing text by Abhaidev.
