It’s like a segment of the bridge between the 50s-60s-70s and the “then-modern” late eighties/early nineties pop-culture. I liked it when I saw it back then, but I thoroughly enjoy it now. It’s aged well and has all the underpinnings and gravity of the Western classics a la Outlaw Josie Wales, The Gunslinger, et al. Maybe not as poignant or realistic as Unforgiven, but I mean, come on. Who’s gonna compete with THAT?
