An extremely portentous and visceral pair of books from the chimeric master of modern literature, Walter Moseley. Here written within is everything of the modern human, all the love, sadness, pride, greed, lust, joy and delight. These 2 stories are well suited for each other but between them Gift of Fire rises to the glittering firmament of genius. I believe these novellas should be combined with the excellent series of short stories called Future land, the incandescent novel Last Days of Ptolomey Grey and the Grapes of Wrath level masterpiece Fortunate Son and read by all persons to provoke our compassion and mercy and remind us of our vast intelligence and limitless foolishness. These books are a psalm, a proverb, a testament to the Beauty, terror and delight of the Human experience.
