I sunk just over 50 hours into this game on PC, which in my opinion is by far the best way to experience this game.
What I loved about Mass Effect 2 was the exploration between planetary systems, that feeling of exploration isn't lost here, it does feel incredible moving between systems and exploring new planets. The planets are beautiful, the creative team clearly put a lot of effort into the planet surfaces, they never get boring to look at, to the point where I often chose to travel by Nomad or foot rather than simply fast travelling everywhere.
The story isn't that great, it does a good job of giving the protagonist a reason to move forwards and explore more, but once the ME series introduced the Reapers there is simply no replacing them, and the 'Kett' would be play things to the Reapers.
The game is remarkably easy when playing on normal difficulty, I can count the amount of times I died on one hand, and most of those deaths was because I accidentally stumbled into some toxic water which kills you faster than you can say oops.
As an exploratory sci-fi game, it's good, as a shoot-em-up it's pretty decent. If you like Mass Effect then you'll probably do the same as me, in that you'll try to play Andromeda several times before you actually ever complete it. Try not to compare it to the old series, although the game at a late stage does link them in a loose way.
You'll probably enjoy it if you give it a go, so I'd recommend it.
