There are movies that get watched for the story, acting, cinematography, and direction. There are movies that must be watched to comprehend the truth, and just that. Kashmir files is one of those movies, that has both. Brilliant performances from the entire team, no doubt, but to say the truth that everyone fears to say, takes some courage. The movie must be watched to reward that courage, if not anything else. In 1989-90, a genocide happened, Hindu Pandit Community was given an ultimatum by the Islamic extremists to either convert, die, or flee Kashmir. This well-researched movie tells the story exactly as those who fled the valley suffered it. This movie makes your inside feel hollow and makes you gasp for breath - and then to know that it is not a fiction, but a reality lived by lakhs. Remember that this should never ever happen, not at our watch.
