It had a bit of potential, but went nowhere with it.

I wanted to give this show a chance, but I found that it looked visibly worse than any cartoon I've ever seen come out of cartoon network, even during it's darker days. This became so distracting that I bailed, and I can't say I'm surprised it was cancelled after a mere 3 seasons.

Frankly, I don't like it. I tried to, but I don't. I almost wish I could see what the style of animation was trying to do, but it comes off as nothing more than inconsistent and lazily done. There's nothing revolutionary about this show or the plot, other than a villain apologist tale, and if we're at a point in time where we're depending on TV show to introduce youth to concepts such as the LGB community, that's an incredibly sad reflection on the status quo.

If we're going to re-write history by making a hero out of the vile thing, "P.T. Barnum", whom I refuse to acknowledge as a man, then there is no surprise that the Trail of Tears and other crimes of humanity are being written out of history as well, and individual plagues of our species are being made into sympathetic "characters". I do not fault the actors, nor producers or directors... but I can only hope that whatever species takes over after our self-inflicted extinction finds some other, more true-to-the-man or at LEAST decent movie among our fossils and bones.

Adding women for the sake of adding women does not a good movie make. That is not to say the actresses in this film did a poor job, but this movie is no better than the "updated" Ghostbusters. If you really want to make a good movie that normalizes that "ladies leading" theme so desperately sought, come up with something original that doesn't have to scream "look! Women! Therefore feminist!"

Of all the heroes and villans, of all the characters in the Marvel Universe films, Captain Marvel stands out as one of the most under-defined, uninteresting, and over-powered. A Superman with no kryptonite. Brie Larason did her best to portray this character, but even a performer of great quality cannot correct a directionless role. However, all other characters within the story make it a watchable, if not somewhat decent movie.

While not the worst, this movie felt like a revised "Brother Bear" with an occasionally-obnoxious redheaded twist. While I appreciate a break from the traditional Disney Princess "Formula", this somewhat-forced coming-of-age story brings little refreshing to the princess table. The rebelliousness became came off in a bratty manner after a point, and Merida is in no way a stronger female or more brave than other Princess characters, such as Mulan, Tiana, or Repunzel.

Aliens serves as an action-packed adventure that continues the eerie, nerve-wrecking suspense of Alien while adding its own new twist to the story. The balance of genres in this film create a uniquely horrifying atmosphere that is becoming scarce. Furthermore, Aliens captures the fantastically unhuman nature of the Xenomorph that we first saw with Bolaji Badejo's brilliant performance in Alien. All in all, it's not too often that sequels live up to the high standards set by originals in the horror genre, but Aliens serves as a top-tier example of such a movie.
