It’s a brilliant attempt to humanise Autism in the Indian context. Of course,Forest Gump is a classic but the context of Vietnam war etc.doesn’t really matter to majority of Indians. I hope a lot more films are made to increase autism awareness in our cultural context, particularly high functioning autism.
After reading all the reviews online and ratings I watched it looking for the reasons for the negative ratings and reviews. I could not find any. In fact I was awestruck throughout the movie by t the gripping nature of the script and the nuanced acting and direction. Aamir Khan‘s acting has to be lauded. All the actors are wonderful in their roles, particularly the young child actors, they were magical. I agree that the first half was better than the second but that is the nature of the story and the script.
It’s a must watch film by all.
