Movie is much darker than trailers elude to. There are themes of sexual and mental abuse and domestic violence. I hope Bella finds the equality and liberation the description says she’s looking for, walked out almost 2 hours in after an unnecessarily long section showcasing the dark side of deviant sexual behaviour. Cinematically it is also very inconsistent, particularly around Bella’s development. The middle of the movie has her up and down in both speech and physicality, then suddenly she speaks almost like a Rhodes scholar and is billingual. Worst movie I have seen in a long time.
