This isn’t a U2 album and should have never been released under the U2 monicker. It is an acoustic experiment by Bono + Edge using U2 songs. If it had been released as that (an experiment in covers by two individuals), the deserved criticism being levelled against the U2 brand would have been spared whilst still satisfying the most ardent and tolerant U2 fans who will consume anything by any of the band members. U2 and it’s management misjudged this release in every aspect (artistically, commercially, etc).
