The quality of the scripts has steadily declined over the past few months. The secretary is now tackling complex problems (border control, climate change, interference in other nations) with simplistic solutions unworthy of the character we have come to know and love. This seems to be an obvious attempt to appeal to the AOC demographic and mindset at the risk of losing the long term viewers who have rallied to save the show in past renewal periods. Sadly, they may be shooting for a Madam President, with simple scripts that merely represent a contrarian counterpart to any policy advocated by the current White House. Added May 15.....not surprised to see it is going ahead with only a 10 episode final season. Loved this show, but they took a hard left that ruined it for too many viewers. Hope they come to their senses and let Elizabeth expound on thoughtful, compromise proposals to address the myriad of problems facing the nation. Get Joe Manchin and Lindsey Graham to co-consult on the scripts!

Each episode stands on its own; some are very good, others are outstanding. All are well-written, beautifully acted, and thought- provoking. Far superior to most TV fare! I expect lots of accolades will flow from the awards season.
