Do not let the trailer and poster art fool you. This is not a conspiracy-theorist contrived Michael Bay-esque eye candy film. This is a surprisingly poignant, artfully shot story about the horrors of war, from a neutral perspective. The movie is not gratuitously political, but instead follows a surprisingly original protagonist group through a careful blend of humor and horror, accompanied by a juxtaposed soundtrack that somehow just works. The pace is not terribly linear, and there are sporadic acting lapses, but overall, this is a beautifully crafted film with some excellent performances. The story will surprise and haunt you through the end. Loved it.
