The kindness evident in every episode is what the world needs. I also appreciate that the subject matter is not frivolous and is, indeed serious, difficult, and daring. The foreshadowing of historically accurate events, such as the discovery of the disastrous effects of thalidomide prescribed correctly but unknowingly, is never cheap or gratuitous. My eyes are moist with tears at the end of almost every episode, but I also laugh a lot. By far my favorite series.
