I’ll give this 3 stars for the acting, production and CGI, but the story on this was very disappointing. Thought this movie was going to show more on his adventures on how he made chocolate, or his time meeting the Oompa’s and how he discovered the magic in chocolate. Something that would lead us to those origins. This movie was nothing like that. You get small glimpses. This movie mainly has him trying to sell his chocolates in a city he becomes a prisoner in. I don’t mean like jail, I mean he happens to get in debt to some shady characters and the movie is mainly him trying to be free and help a little girl. Even the Oompa character was out of character. I love the books and wish this had more to it. I’d recommend it if you like musicals and a good hearted ending, but for the Wonka factor I would say pass.
