The comedy is ok, but a classic noir featuring a hard-boiled crime detective and a femme-fatale heroine will make for a much better film. The plot has potential and the film will do better without the comedy. Plus, like a Chris Nolan idea, the director weaves a new idea into the worn out detective thriller genre. The hero, Ashok Selvan, unlike Pizza 2, which he also starred with Kali Venkat, where he breathes life to a multi-dimensional author, in this film though... it's a great character, but sometimes Selvan seems a bit off. Sometimes over-dramatic and sometimes he needs more spice in his character. Janani Iyer's character had a lot of potentials, she did a great performance, yet the character could've been used in different ways and it could've been more developed.
And the cliff-hanger ending has a sequential potential too, but that depends on the audience, whether they want a Thegidi 2, kind of like modern Tamil and Hollywood Cinema, where you want to create a money-grabbing yet exciting franchise. The BGM is great and only two songs in the movie is good. In total, from my POV, I'd give it a 7.5/10
