I’ve known Wreck-it Ralph since I was almost 8, and I still feel like it all happened yesterday. Vanellope is my favorite character and I want to list more, but that will take too long.
I see Wreck-it Ralph having this ‘Coraline’ thing because just like Coraline not liking the conditions in the Pink Palace, he doesn’t like the conditions in his game with his role and how he’s treated mainly. Ralph tries to go and be a hero in his game like Coraline just wants to stay in the other world right after her discovery, but Ralph’s phase changed his life like Coraline’s phase changed hers. I hope this type of figurative language fits because I love Coraline too.
Vanellope is what I get into the most because she’s like this innocent girl with a condition feeling ashamed daily. I don’t see her glitch as a tic, but I see it as a point where she has a high heartbeat and she can’t control it like when she’s angry or excited or in any strong emotion. When her Likkity Split got destroyed, I had this feeling like these voices from the other racers are like “one mistake from one heartbeat can leave your life down bad, so stay out of the race cause that’s all you’ll ever have”. It’s like an improper heart sequence can lead a person into a personal havoc. It’s not just about her glitch though. Vanellope was snarky and sharp-tonged and annoying with a little sweet “racing” spark in her heart, and it’s like you get bullied and you don’t mean your bad actions. Nevertheless, she still loves people and forgives like “Pills n Potions” by Nicki Minaj. However, spoiler alert, it was all King Candy’s (Turbo) fault that she had this mess because all he wants is attention from every single person in the world. This still got Vanellope in a teen-like mind with a curious spirit.
I support Calhoun too because she had a lot in her life with a tragic program about losing her boy from a cy-bug. It’s like Ariana Grande’s PTSD from the Manchester bombing, but instead of writing a song called “get well soon”, she had a little help from Felix even though he brought up something terribly familiar. It’s a good thing Calhoun’s pieces were mended by Felix’s magic hammer.
I have a lot of thoughts about the movie and I rate it 5/5 because it feels like an era of a big galaxy of my everything! It’s awesome.
