i think this book takes an interesting approach breaking down the life of a young black 20-something in new york. the main character, edie, has a thought provoking approach on life and i believe the author did a great job of including the way race places a part in every-day interactions. luster touches on lots of sensitive topics in an brilliant way! i also think this book was a lot less about an open marriage/interracial relationships and more about the MCs trauma and how it impacts her approach to everyday life, interpersonal relationships, and view of the world. this book is a great quick read!
