This is beautiful. Beautifully written, beautifully paced, beautifully penciled, inked, and colored.
For a big concept, it is very intimate. Only a handful of characters, all realized neatly for the sake of the theme and story. There are moments, no spoilers, where it seems like an action that should take a few pages, or even a few panels, happens in one panel or a single caption. It is all in service of the story, which makes sense, because the whole book is told in the framework of a long passed-on family folk tale.
It’s worth noting I’ve never written a google review before. I’m not the reviewing type. If this tiny little blurb gets even one person to look at this book, I’ve done my job.
