Last night, my friend group had the time of their lives watching this hysterical movie and vowing we would one day travel to beautiful Greece. Over drinks we discussed how a movie franchise spanning more than two decades could stay so relevant by changing and updating the changing tensions that immigrant and second generation families face.
To come here and see any negative comments at all, is completely shocking. But to see people angry that the film included an LGBTQ character and a Greek/Syrian marriage is unacceptable. Shame on the xenophobes and homophobes who use movie reviews to assert their ignorant, chauvinistic views. Hate speech is hate speech.
This is a beautiful, touching movie about love, diversity and tolerance and don't let angry, intolerant, self-hating people tell you otherwise.
