I borrowed it from the library and I was glad it was free. It just was kind of boring. It felt a bit condescending, as if she was trying to give us lessons in American history, with a bit of memoir thrown in. Her insights into her life with her mother felt topical, as if she lured us there, then dumped her version of On The Road onto us. She writes well, just felt duped by the subject matter.
