Vance Cunningham

It's something completely new, doesn't really feel like Tolkien's writing, or any of the previous film interpretations. It's character driven, whereas Tolkien is generally more focused on the world and the myth (at least in the writings the show is based on). That being said, I really enjoyed it! It looks beautiful, all the actors are great, and I'm very interested in where it's going. My main complaint is that the elves don't really have that ethereal feel to them, they're much more like humans, much more grounded. Even world weary elves like Elrond still appear to be floating a few millimeters above the earth. And the female dwarves should totally have beards, that's 100% cannon. 8/10 so far, excited to see where it ends up.
