I've got all of the Reacher books and have thoroughly enjoyed them, but this is not a Reacher book in my eyes. The character has been written quite differently, obviously due to the involvement of Andrew Grant/Child, and unfortunately now hardly resembles the Reacher we know and love. And the story is a low point in Reacher novels. Far too 'wordy' and totally unbelievable. I struggled through 300 pages over a number of weeks, when I usually breeze through the books in a few sittings, but just can't bring myself to read through to the end. I'm gutted to lose one of my favourite characters, but I just can't see myself buying any more if Andrew Grant/Child remains in charge. Any self-respecting Reacher fan would be advised to steer well clear of this rubbish.
