I am grossed out by the language and the sex 'jokes' /incidents in the sequel. There is not a level of sophistication that is required for these kinds of matters in films. It was just crass, trashy, and a bloated misfire, that a yokel in Eastern Europe might think is cinema. I am surprised that actors like Henry Golding, Alison Janney, Michele Marrone (a star in Europe), Andrew Rannell, Anna Kendrick are in this, but a paycheck is a paycheck. Blake Lively is not a strong actor to carry this movie. She was good in the shark movie, and okay in Gossip Girl. Perhaps the burdened script is the culprit? There were way too many loose ends with characters, and her story. Overall, a disturbing crass movie I deeply regret watching.

Those who diss this thrilling slasher are the kind of people who failed connect-the-dots in kindergarten. They need everything spelled out for them cuz they don't know how to think, rely on Rotten Tomatoes to tell them what to think, and only want a head decapitated every 3 minutes. This film has a style of its own, is beautifully photographed, has interesting ideas, very funny, and a terrific cast. William Russ is a stand-out as the teacher and town figure, giving a startlingly wry performance. The council members like Janet, Simon & Larry were fun and interesting, as well as the town folks. Everyone understood the assignment and delivered. The film pays a respect to all other slashers before it, and it is its own movie. I have such affection for Founders Day, and I appreciate it for what it is. Mad respect for the Bloomquist Bros! 🇨🇦

I have not seen a great action movie since Overlord, except maybe The Batman comes close but doesnt surpass this. Metaphors abound about race, war, Nazi medical experiments, heroism about men, feminism. More of a thinking guy action film, heavy on the action. Yes, there are zombies, and they are scary, but so are the Nazis. Their evilness is exactly the same. As a Canadian, I love that this is quite an American film. Shout-out to our American cousins south of our border! This film is one of my all-time faves. It begs repeat viewing.

I was right, after all. Mindy Kaling is NOT talented - we're just being led to believe she is, by Hollywood's taste-makers. This show is stupid offensive. And not in a fun way. Go away, Mindy Kaling. Join a temp agency and find work there.

Classic film that put Zack Snyder on the map for his clever story-telling skills. The cast is wonderful, they make a talented ensemble. Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames & more. A helluva good time watching this. The first 10 minutes ramps up the action and what the stakes are. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5
