Decidedly among my favorite books of all time. I was fortunate enough to hear her speak at the ABA in the 90’s and met her in my gallery in Albuquerque while she was here during the filming of Broke Back Mountain. The reason for all of this back history is because her persona was so incongruous with that twisted, multi-layered darkly comic novel. I laughed out loud numerous times at its lurid genius. It probably isn’t for everyone but I thoroughly loved it.
