Watched it on Disney+ Hotstar on 20th Nov, missed to watch this at theaters. It's a cerebral movie, sound/visual effects, not really something one would miss at home. Still, it's so brilliant, I would watch it at the theaters. A lot of positive things, I would like to say, have already been shared by others, so adding a perspective from those living with family members at home with memory problems. As the quality of medical care and sciences have improved, a lot of elders suffer from mental/memory disorders. How a trained military man deals with his shortcomings, using what's left of his mental faculties - it stellar. If you fear, (god forbid) - you will have reduced mental capabilities in old age - and you think, you will follow a system, and move on in life; watch this movie carefully. It will give you a perspective, on how you might live, afflicted with degraded mental abilities. It's sad on one side, utterly! The loop. Yet, the human desire to continue on - stellar showcase of will and strength. As a Malayali - this type of a product, makes one feel - we are as good as the best - in the whole world!

At the theatre, on 5th October, it was not as packed as it should have been. Laughed so much till first half, eyes were watering and rubbing the happy tears on my t-shirt. The amount of giggling.. I think my row of seat was constantly shaking cos of me laughing. The situational comedy was so brilliant. I like both the stars, but Vinayakan was shining! Story.. I interpret it my way - I have a close friend like this. We are constantly at war, that's what people think. However we care for eachother.. and at gatherings - everyone waits for our battle to start. What is the movie about - did not get it, anyway - not too bothered. I had a blast, and thank god I went to see the movie - it was not planned, it just happened due to circumstances. I saw it as: everyone understood they were very good friends. Allowed the "enemy" the privilege to take care of his friend in the end. They gave the "enemy/other half" that respect and space. I may have interpreted the movie wrong.. but what a blast! Proud to be a malayali! Because of such talent - the whole crew.

It's a relaxing and positive movie. Humans are meant to interact with one another. Often, the decision is - she is out of my league, or he is from a different cast... countless reasons come up in mind, to not be in proximity, with the person of interest. Years later, we find ourselves trapped in relationships we have nothing in common with. In Photograph, the guy does nothing and something - at the same time. He is timid, yet a man, must express his desire - yet knows, their worlds do not have anything in common, other than perhaps the air they breathe. He takes her to cinemas, infested with rats; he did not borrow money or create an illusion. Above all he was transparent and truthful. Left it to her, to decide what she wanted. Just because you woke up pretty, there is no assurance, you will have lunch like a diva. Similarly, the man met her in reduced circumstances, by the end of the movie, he does what he can to give her modern amenities, he knows she is accustomed to. This is real love. Men and Woman - both are equally blind, these days. Great scriptwriter/director. Well-acted, a gem of a movie may it get more publicity.

Another movie which makes one proud to be a Malayali - in two ways. First, thank god i am a Malayali and understand and speak the language - to be able to enjoy such lovely works of art. Second, when Pachu is roughed up in Goa, the movie goes in the logical way - approach the police station etc. but then the Malayali way of handling the situation comes out. Good script keeping in mind the average man's ego, and wonderful advertisement for pepper spray! There are a lot of new and innovative things in the movie - one should watch it. It also shows the hardships of the less fortunate. The movie makers chose to portray a female child; but it could very well have been a male child too. My takeaway from the movie is - there is no need for a hero to solve all the problems of the world - if just one person helps one person - that is enough - no need for heroism to heal the world. Laila inspires Pachu and that's the way forward - an organic, domino type healing. Like a meadow in bloom - each flower and plant in the meadow is not kept safe by a single hero - it is the community in vicinity.

I usually watch scary movies with at least 1 friend. The beginning 20 seconds of the movie would lead one to believe it is a scary movie. About 24 hours have passed since watching the movie as I write this review. It's a love movie, or a movie of celestial love in blossom, to be ruined and withered by wickedness. In that sense, it's a sad love story - thank god the lovers got a few moments to be in love - platonic love to be more accurate. This is how I'd summarize it. Loved Tovino's voice - there is gentleness, nurturing, care in the way he addresses Bhargavikutty. Shine played his role - perfectly portraying the wicked side of humans. The wall - what a sweet concept... Many thanks to the subtitles team - not everyone understands poetic Malayalam. The 2 lovers - Rima and Roshan, they did their part - like childish lovers. I am going to watch this again - and would do so even if it was in a theater. All the other supporting teams - digital effects, music, audio - and countless others needed to make a movie - well done all of you, tip top performance! Thank you!
