Even if Nic Cage was in this, it's beyond being saved. The android, who initially seems to have learning difficulties, miraculously starts speaking in a clipped upper class English accent when he's rebooted. The aliens just do what they've done for the past fifty years, but this time to a gang of not too bright teenagers who have the collective personality of a paper bag. But, again miraculously they have the skills to fly to a wrecked spacestation that's just happened to drift into the mining planet's orbit without anyone on the ground, apart from them, noticing it. The use of Ian Holm's image is, frankly. ghoulish. It doesn't look real, even for an android, and adds nothing to the plot. Even Alien Covenant was better than this, and that's a pretty low bar to be compared to.
