Riveting storyline, brilliant acting and characters that have depth come together in this series, not to mention how the Punjab comes to life in a vivid manner. The dialogue was deep, the realities of modern India existing within a traditional and conservative society was fascinating. From spousal abuse, to family expectations, the needs of widows and widowers, gay relationships, pre-marital sex in India, friendships, land ownership, sacrifices made by siblings, jealousy, police brutality - Kohrra weaves them all together. This must be one of the best series I've watched in a long time. I thought of just browsing through for a while but ended up sleeping past 3 AM as I couldn't resist binge watching, something I've rarely ever done. Five stars for sure!
