This book was deemed one of the ten best fantasy books but I was disappointed. The conversations were tedious and added little to the plot. Instead of portraying powerful female characters, the women were neurotic, shallow and obsessed with whether or not they were still attractive to the opposite sex. Were people really that one dimensional back then?
