Can’t help think that the idiot who wrote this review...
“Sad that the Clueless star from 20 years ago is no longer cute. She has thick thighs and huge belly fat that was written into the script instead of her working out. At age 40 she still has about 3 facial expressions, sad, happy and concerned and little acting ability beyond that. She is not much to look at and should no longer be in movies.”
...Is the real subject of this film. If you think that one part determines how you should understand everything an actor is in; and can’t see parallels through your own aging; or appreciate that people are all sad and complicated and confused - you may not enjoy this movie.
And if you do, you still may not.
I’m not saying it’s a great movie; but it deserves to be understood for what it is trying to be. Which is not a vehicle for a woman who somehow stupidly doesn’t age. Good on Silverstone for this. I enjoyed her genuinely non ego performance.
