"Becoming" by Michelle Obama, a thoughtful gift from my husband. This is the first autobiography I managed to finish reading which says a lot about the good flow of the book.
This is the most relatable book I've read in a long time. Michelle Obama is funny, inspiring, vulnerable, strong-willed, kind and ambitious. Being an African-American woman , she had to work twice harder to stand a chance in the society. Sadly, it is the same everywhere around the world. A never-ending struggle for those of us coming from the minority group. *We have to be louder to be heard.*
She has also raised the struggle of working mothers to balance work and family and the frustration of having a busy partner. Most women are made to feel guilty when career is prioritised. Whereas, the same equation doesn't apply to men. Barack was away most of the time due to his heavy responsibilities. Hence, not having enough time with his daughters. But that is understandable? This is a constant debate in today's world.
She has also shared about her inspiring work for the community throughout her years as the First Lady. A must read book for those who is in need of motivation !
