Superb writing, thought provoking cinematography, engaging acting, and super intense special effects are what sets this version of Nancy Drew apart from other iterations. Nancy, herself, is three dimensional, more than just her reactions to evidence and clues. Her crew is genuine, too, full of diverse characters including deaf, Jewish, BIPOC, female, and LGBTQIA+ representation.
This version of Nancy Drew feels very much modern, set in a world where Nancy’s crew is made up of people I can relate to and want to be around.
Sure there’s romance and hot actors and Scott Wolf (<3)... but what’s more important is the mystery at hand, and that’s the way it should be.
