Clover Shea

While I personally enjoyed this movie I can understand why people would be so upset by it. This is not a kaiju movie, this is an action/drama movie. It's plot is driven by characters and their motivation, with kaiju being used as a device to carry the plot. It's experimental and ambitious, but for me it worked.
