Author is a Zionist. There was even a mention about how the character would “learn about the creation of Israel” to impress her lecturer she was sleeping with. Knowing what I know now, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians isn’t something to be romanticised about. Really disappointed as the reviews looked good. But I couldn’t bring myself to finish it, I’d urge people not to buy.
