I'm wayyy on the younger end of the audience (not even legally able to get a tattoo, haha), and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this show. I'm probably missing a lot of messages or significant aspects of the purpose of this show, but I think it's well-written and holds a benefit to most viewers, regardless of whether or not they're the target audience.
I can't relate to it in the same way most of the viewers probably can. I've never had a job, much less an office job, and I'm very much in my unstable teenage years as opposed to those of a quiet, middle-aged woman, but I think that is why the show is so appealing. The world is technically ending in it, sure, but I think it portrays the "the world doesn't end after you're 17" message very well. Even though I doubt that's what it was trying to portray, it has helped me look forward to my adult years and reminded me that, at the end of the day, your life doesn't have to be mind-numbingly boring as you age. I'm sure there are plenty of other shows that carry the same message, but this one hit home, for whatever reason. Maybe it was the apocalypse, maybe it was the animation style (I really liked her eyes! I don't think I've seen that style in animated shows before), or maybe it was the refreshing feeling of a show about the apocalypse that wasn't action-packed or had a teen/young adult as the protaganist.
There are a few inconsistensies with how the world is both in a state of anarchy and yet planes and cruises are still a thing, but it didn't take away from the show at all. Also the surfing episode was really mid but the other episodes were still nice. 5/5 overall, 100% would recommend 👍
