All in all Alita was well adapted and beautifully choreographed, but the plots pacing felt off with the weight of so much to express. This unfortunately lead to a lack of characterization and a romance that fell flat. Christoph Walt and Rosa Salazar did a fantastic job but even their relationship felt a little rushed. As a side note, Dr. Ido’s Hammer looked cool but felt both bulky and fake in the hands of Waltz. Not his fault but a note that not everything has to be transferred word for word from the manga. A valid attempt and an all around beautiful film. Gives me hope for the future of anime film adaptions.
