Krupa Magdum

After watching the previous 2 seasons I thought - well, what would be different in this one? I expected the same fabric of match-making/enemies to lovers etc but this season really surprised me. Queen Charlotte: A bridgerton story is a class apart. The last episode left me and I guess almost everybody else in tears. The background score was so heartbreakingly beautiful! Everything felt so poetic and real. The fact that one can be loved with physical flaws, major physical flaws is stunningly conveyed. I also liked the chemistry of Reynolds and Brimsley, it was sad to see him doing the little waltz all by himself (if you know you know)! I believe that this season is something people will write about and study. The diversity and inclusivity Bridgerton brings us is so refreshing. This season set a benchmark! It’s absolutely beautiful.

Qala is a creatively executed movie with a vibe that many will deeply appreciate. The characters and actors (especially Tripti Dimri) are worth five stars. It was nice to see some fresh faces. Watch it if you like a dark or pre-independence aesthetic. It is something to experience. I feel that the movie is slow in places and it could’ve been tightened up a bit. It gets predictable as well. The songs meant for Babil Khan’s character didn’t suit him at all- I don’t know if the voice was too old for him or whether he couldn’t get his expressions right.There were times when I was reminded of the movie ‘Black Swan’.I enjoyed Bulbul a lot more. The music is nice, it has a refreshing tone. Watch the movie if you are a vintage-vibe admirer and if you love good music. Lastly, I love the attempt made. It’s good to see such movies coming out- with promising stories. It signals the dawn of thoughtful filmmaking in India.
