I was pleasantly surprised that a Netflix film could be done so well. It seems mis-labelled as a romantic comedy, I think it’s a lot more than that. The writing and acting are so convincing for me, it really drew me in and made me feel and think about my own connections with people. The story was small, but I think real human stories are most often small and precious. This film did justice to the topic of grief by treating it with care- slowing down as each character came to terms with their pain and the fact that they needed to let it be a part of them. It felt significant to be reminded what it is to be human.
