Alexander Haskell (Xander)

One of my favorite movies ever made. Robert Eggers yet again proves he is amazing behind the camera. Ignore the one star reviews from people who thought they were gonna see some type of marvel action movie. The attention to detail and the way the story incorporates Norse mythology into the story is fantastic. The cinematography, effects, score, action, and acting were all top notch. Highly recommend watching this on a huge screen with the volume way up!

It had some decent ideas but was poorly executed. The acting was meh, the CGI and action scenes were bad, especially compared to the previous movies, and the story and pacing where all over the place. The movie shows scenes from the previous movies in an attempt to be like "hey remember how cool The Matrix was" and does this movie a huge disservice. And then there are all the self referential meta jokes scattered through out the movie. There is literally a scene where they are having a pitch meeting about how to make a Matrix 4... I was highly disappointed and when I go back to rewatch the matrix movies every year, I will be leaving this one out. This movie makes you appreciate the other two Matrix sequels.

I was really excited to see what the guy who gave us such hits as Insidious and The Conjuring was making next. Happy to see him return to horror. But man was I disappointed. The movie is boring, predictable, and not original. Basket Case did it better. This movie didnt know whether it wanted to be campy or serious. The score and tone were all over the place and the acting was super cringeworthy. There is nothing redeemable here. People talk about the crazy ending, but it doesnt excuse the first 2 acts you have to suffer through to get to it. I don't understand the 5 star reviews. We must have watched different movies. Don't waste your time or money.
