Acting is great, however Middletown is NOT in Appalachia but is adjacent to Louisville KY. The author has played the poor Appalachian in this narrative, when he grew up in a sixth class city near Louisville. Many who live in this area have middle class to upper class incomes. His mother had a nursing license yet was a drug addict.The poor me syndrome falls flat.
