Merely okay, at best. The trailer that released for Longlegs almost gave a Hereditary vibe--very ominous, very mysterious, but with promises of gore and jump scare galore (within reason, of course.) My husband and I were waiting for the ball to drop; Over the course of 1 h and 40 min, he says it best: This would've been a WONDERFUL short film. The build-up was amazing, but the film stays too long building atmosphere and tension to connect loose ends and major plot points. With so many more questions than answers, LongLegs is a 'tease' for a horror film that could have played well into supernatural and psychological horror. The main character is frustratingly monotonous, has unexplained "psychic" abilities--and somehow still ends up finding a way to get everyone killed around her. Big let down. Nicholas Cage was okay, I guess.

If you love 2000s Marvel movies, you're in for a fun, long ride. That's the most I'll say. When you think it's going to be cowboys and aliens, as always MCU finds a way to make the impossible seem possible, and even with the recent change in leadership, Disney did not do wrong by Deadpool. I genuinely appreciate being pleasantly surprised by a film recently. Still definitely not a family-oriented movie, Deadpool reignites the hope for those who were not left satisfied with Logan (2017), and leaves you amazed and wanting more while laughing hysterically meanwhile. Two thumbs up from my husband and I!
