Merely okay, at best.
The trailer that released for Longlegs almost gave a Hereditary vibe--very ominous, very mysterious, but with promises of gore and jump scare galore (within reason, of course.)
My husband and I were waiting for the ball to drop; Over the course of 1 h and 40 min, he says it best: This would've been a WONDERFUL short film. The build-up was amazing, but the film stays too long building atmosphere and tension to connect loose ends and major plot points. With so many more questions than answers, LongLegs is a 'tease' for a horror film that could have played well into supernatural and psychological horror.
The main character is frustratingly monotonous, has unexplained "psychic" abilities--and somehow still ends up finding a way to get everyone killed around her. Big let down.
Nicholas Cage was okay, I guess.
