Despite being fun and visually interesting at times, this film is frought with problems in contrast to the strong showing in the first Gadot Wonder Woman film, most chiefly by leaning too heavily on cheeseball whimsical themes at the expense of any tangible stakes. The visuals and solid individual performances are redeeming, but a lack of cohesive plot and story-pacing blatantly chipped away at the film (Kristen Wiig largely gets forgotten about in the 2nd act) and made things feel disconnected while saying nothing new about WW as a character. Combined with the character-ability continuity issues created, this film was definitely another strike against the "DCEU", whatever that acronym means anymore.
